UNESCO recommended the State Party of Cambodia to affix the distinctive emblems to facilitate the recognition of the cultural property and to provide a significant element of protection to this "outstanding masterpiece of Khmer architecture."The Temple of PreahVihear is an angkorian era monument located in the northern province of PreahVihear, 400 km north of Phnom Penh and 140 km northeast of Angkor, in the immediate proximity to Cambodia's border with Thailand. It built on a promontory that extends to the south, jutting out into the plain it dominates.
